She would be very disappointed that the school used her word in such a myopic way. It sounds very much as though school leadership is trying to play some kind of CYA approach to deflect future criticism.

I can tell you that management at many companies is just the same. You’re never taught how to manage others or cope with stress; when it’s taught, if it ever is, it’s usually as an additional responsibility so that you can help junior employees rather than yourself.

Holistic leadership is what is needed in America…not piecemeal band-aids and half an hour videos. Without context and active, open discussion the message is largely lost.
